Creating a Leather Armor Material in Substance Designer – Mastering Procedural Workflows

Hello, ArtStation community!

I’m excited to share one of my old tutorials, a complete tutorial series on crafting a realistic leather armor material entirely in Substance Designer. This playlist is perfect for artists looking to refine their procedural texturing skills and achieve stunning results without relying on external textures.

In this series, I guide you step-by-step through key techniques, including creating height maps, defining intricate surface details, and achieving a polished, production-ready look. Each part of the tutorial builds on the previous one, offering a comprehensive learning path for beginners and advanced users alike.

Whether you're a game developer, texture artist, or just exploring procedural texturing, this series is designed to elevate your work.

My try to make Iranian Ancient Dagger in Substance Designer | Part 1

Tutorial / 24 August 2021

I was going to create a new graph in Designer to make a low poly weapon;

I chose an Iranian dagger as a reference, because of my interest in the history of Islam and Iran.

I thought to myself, maybe others can use this process, so I am recording this process.

I hope you find it useful.
